Nanostructured Ni-W-P-SiO2 composite coatings were developed on copper sheets using electrolytic tartrate bath. Firstly, the experimental parameters and the composition of the electrolytic bath were optimized. Then, surface morphology and composition of the synthesized coatings were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) techniques. Finally, corrosion behavior of the developed Ni-W-P-SiO2 coatings was evaluated in 3.5wt. % NaCl solution using electrochemical method such as: open circuit potential (EOCP), potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopic (EIS) measurements. Highest corrosion resistance was observed for coating that deposited from bath with concentration of 4 g/L SiO2.
